Eat. Drink. Gather.
Founded by Greer and Christian Thornton in 2000, Atria has become one of Martha’s Vineyard’s most beloved culinary institutions. With its ever-evolving seasonal menu and relaxed elegance, Atria is both a neighborhood restaurant as well as a celebratory destination, capturing the singular charm and abundant beauty of Vineyard life.
Set in a 19th-century sea captain’s house in Edgartown, Atria offers a range of dining experiences — from its bustling brick cellar (burgers, cocktails, DJ booth) to its sophisticated main dining room. And when summer is in full swing, its tented patio is the perfect backdrop to unforgettable Vineyard nights.
Meet The Owners
Christian, from the Bay area and Napa Valley, attended cooking school in San Fransisco and led kitchens with the greats including Wolfgang Puck and Nora Puuillon, crafting culinary excellence and a focus on global flavors and local and organic resourcing. Greer, a Washington DC native, worked in hospitality for years then met Christian while running the front of house at Restaurant Nora.
Christian and Greer found a perfect union together early in their careers. While on vacation on Martha’s Vineyard, they fell in love with each other and the Island and began their journey, bringing insanely delicious and conscious dishes with true hospitality to their new home and restaurant, Atria.
25 years and three children later, Christian, Greer and their talented staff are still obsessed with bringing you the best night, the prettiest ambiance and the yummiest dinner you could wish for.
